How to Clean Bird Droppings without Scratching Your Car
The problem with bird droppings is that many birds use small rocks to help digest their food and some of these rocks end up in their poop which can easily scratch your vehicle’s paint. Bird poop also contains uric acid, seeds, and other abrasives that will destroy your clear coat if removed aggressively.
Our first tip is to act fast. Bird excrement is much easier to remove when it is fresh.
Our second tip is to ensure the droppings are soft. The best way to do this is to put a damp cloth or car cleaning wipe over the area for a few minutes – saturating it with club soda can be very helpful. Once you’ve done this, you should find the mess comes away from the surface easily.
The final tip is to avoid scraping or rubbing hard to dislodge the droppings. If not all of the droppings are removed the first time, just place another damp cloth or cleaning wipe on the spot again and repeat this process until everything is removed.
